Linda Coven is one of the Cape’s leading experts on hydrangeas, and you are invited to visit her private oasis and sanctuary featuring over 500 hydrangeas. An educator, presenter and past President of the Cape Cod Hydrangea Society, she has decades of experience in growing and enjoying all varieties of this beautiful shrub. In Linda’s garden, hydrangeas are the showstoppers and the garden is simply magical. Bursting with blooms, pollinators and whimsy, it is a sheer delight for the senses. Over the years, Linda has amassed a collection that includes rare varieties such as Director Kunart, Froggie, and Penske. Her collection includes dwarf varieties, standard sized shrubs and even many that are no longer available for purchase.

Linda’s garden welcomes you with a lovely emerald green carpet of turf. Then you catch a glimpse, the hydrangeas call to you, beckoning you to explore. Perennials dance seamlessly between the soft pinks, sky blues, crisp whites, dazzling reds, and majestic purple bloom laden hydrangeas. The garden features both areas of dense shade to full sun and are bursting with inspiration and ideas featuring statuary, water features, and clever design tips including trellising, hardscaping and planting on slopes. Her design ensures that everywhere your eyes gaze, your heart fills with delight.

Linda’s garden is divided into rooms and each one will make you want to stay for a spell. Come and explore the patio filled with containers of succulents, hydrangeas and perennials. Visit the terraced garden, catch a glimpse of her hidden workspace tucked behind her darling classic Cape Cod shed and mingle in her brand new area that she is calling the “islands”. Here the pollinators dance among the blooms as local en plein air artists attempt to capture the beauty. It’s as if you are transported to another world. Each year there is always something new to see.

Linda is excited to share her gardens and expertise with you. You are invited to attend a demonstration of Linda’s tried and true technique called “Pot-in-Pot” which allows you to enjoy blooms all season long utilizing a simple, clever, and time saving technique of container gardening.
